Seismic reflection method is a geophysical analysis of the subsoil that allows to accurately detect the stratigraphic and structural configuration of the rock formations underlying the earth’s surface. The investigation method consists in generating from surface the acoustic wave and recording the reflected waves through special receivers (geophones). The characteristics of the seismic waves that crossing the various media as well as the paths of the reflected waves are governed by the laws of Snell, the theory of elasticity, speed and geometry of seismic rays, etc. The final product of the elaboration sequence (processing ) Is a seismic stack section, along the profile line, in double-time or deep-converted, which contains information about structure and stratigraphy of the explored area. Each seismic reflector indicates the presence of a discontinuity (layer, discordance, tectonic contact).
